About 1,000 leaders from all over the world gathered
in Virginia Beach, Virginia, from October 11-15 for a moving time of
learning, fellowship and inspiration. The theme was “Set Apart” and
the host congregation was the Hampton
Roads Church of Christ. |

Over the weekend of 09/01 through 09/03, disciples from the various New England Churches convened in Worcester, MA, at the DCU Center, to praise our awesome God and renew our spirit and the faith that stokes it. Read a first-timer's account. |

With our own families and households, it is important
to make sure that we stay close and united together in love. We know
that ultimately that spiritual unity and family comes from God. For the
past number of years we have been joining together with our “sister
church,” the Groton / New London Church for marriage retreats and all
Connecticut services each year. It is awesome to know that there are
other disciples living for Christ so close by and that we have become so
dear to each other! |

Earlier this year, the Groton/New London church had a mutually
encouraging time with Damir and Andrea Jandricek, leaders in the Zagreb,
Croatia church. For many years now, we have eagerly supported European
missions, so upon learning that the Jandricek's were traveling to the US,
we jumped at the opportunity to have them come for a visit to Connecticut. |
|
|
Once
a year, members of the Hartford & Groton churches typically go away
for a marriage retreat. Each year is rewarding and new lessons are
learned. This year, we broke away from our normal venture to Vermont and
stayed a little closer to home. We were to stay at an incredible spot,
hear some incredible words and hang out with the one most incredible
person God has given us – our spouse.

The Church - a History of Reactions
But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any
foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If
any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones,
wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the
Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire
will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives,
he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he
himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. |

By Kim Adams Our annual Women’s Night entitled,
“Imagine” was held on October 17, 2003 at the Ocean Beach Port ‘n
Starboard room in New London. As each woman entered the beautiful
waterfront facility she was greeted by a fanciful display on each table
of live goldfish, twinkling lights and fragrant sachets. God
brought 166 women to share this evening of fellowship, food,
entertainment and inspiration. |

Recently, Paul Davis retired from the Navy after 22+
years of service. So what does an ex-officer do to celebrate a
successful naval career? How about a trip to the Big Apple? |
