On Friday evening, October 18th the Groton/New London Church hosted its annual Woman's Night. The theme this year was "A New Day" and it was held at Ocean Beach in New London. God moved in a powerful way as the 59 women of the Groton/New London Church saw a total of 155 attend this year's event.

The Port & Starboard room was beautifully decorated with flowers and candles, and a coffee and hors d'oeuvres were provided. Gail Sciascia was the master of ceremonies. The evening opened with an inspiring performance of Celine Dion's "A New Day Has Come" sung by Heather Miller. The key note speaker was Lori Bynum from the Boston Church of Christ. Lori spoke powerfully about what it means to be a new creation in God.

There was also personal sharing by Immacula Perkins and Kim Adams. They both shared from their own lives how they'd come to know and have a relationship with God and how he'd given them a fresh start on life.

Everyone was given a chance toward the end of the evening to share with other women at their table about what they had learned and gained from the night. The evening closed with another great performance. This time it was an upbeat song entitled "Shackles," sung by Jennifer Fontanez. The back-up singers for both performances included Letriona McCahill, Juliet Coveney, Lori Lichtenwalter, and Stephanie Davis. The night was a great bonding time for women of all ages and backgrounds. God was definitely glorified with the messages, the performances, hearts of the women. We are already eagerly looking forward to next year's Woman's Day.
